2023
Introduction to our 2023 trip
Well, Here we are again, despite me hinting that 2022 would be our last trip.
This year John and I would be re-joined by Andy who had made a couple of Mallorca trips with us in previous years but had a suffered a couple of serious cycling accidents meaning long layoffs off the bike but this year he was back to his cycling fittest. We would also be joined by Dennis who in his 60th year wanted to tick the Mallorca box, especially Sa Colabra. At 60 he is the 'youth' of our trip, but unlike the rest of us he didn't know what was to come despite 'research' on Youtube etc. He's fit, living in a hilly area so his training rides were well suited. to what was to come. He would also make an ideal cycling partner for Andy when I sent them off to do a couple of climbs we wouldn't be doing on days 1 and 2.
As per previous trips we would be carrying our gear with us as we were stopping at different hotels/resorts each night so approx 3kg on our bikes in seat packs or bar bags so apart from Den/Andy's climb of Sa Colabra we would be lugging these up all our climbs.
I booked accommodation in C'an Pastilla, Can Picafort, Port De Soller, Sant Elm and a final night in MAGALUF!! (because it was very cheap)
Bikes booked in advance from our normal suppliers in Palma, Nano Cycles 3 of us on Specialised Roubaix and Dennis on a Specialised
Flights booked using Ryanair.
